Well, defending your title as the unquestionable Alpstein Trophy bastard isn’t always easy and this year was proof enough. Last in category, but heck, it was alright and i was more or less satisfied. Nice, bit shorter route for a change and winds, puh, winds i’ve never experienced before.

Weekend back @ home. On Saturday, after shooting at the mandatory thingy-thing, a quick boulder trip to a new site advertised in the club news of SAC Säntis: Quite nice, although mostly way too hard for me. Next day, on Sunday, trip to the climbing mekka of Brüggler, a real paradise, especially on this day: warm, sunny and noone in front of us. Tödi in one push. Not as unusual as I thought – there were lots of ski tourers doing the exactly same thing that morning. Start @ 0200, peaked @ 1000, back down @ 1300. Very windy (foehn!), especially during the night (with full moon), cloudy at the top & steep descent with crampons down the Schneerus. A new standard spring tour for years to come?
